Tami-Adrian George, aka Tami Bruskotter, has been a fixture on the dance and fitness circuit in Southern California for almost 40 years. She started teaching her first dance and aerobic classes while still in high school, got certified as a Personal Trainer & Nutrition Coach, then segued her skills as a Competitive Dancer & Cheerleader into choreographing winning routines for dance groups of all ages and styles. While completing her Writing/Public Relations degree at California State University, Northridge Tami also began a busy career as an actor and model. She’d spend the next 25 years appearing in more than 50 national commercial & print campaigns, dozens of music videos, films (Starship Troopers, Bratz, Taylor’s Return), and numerous TV appearances (General Hospital, Beverly Hills 90210, Star Trek DS9, Big Time Rush). All that time spent on sets, meant she’d need to find a way to stay in shape wherever she was in the world. Although a dance teacher had Tami stretching on the Reformer for to keep those kicks high, it wasn’t until a proper intro session that she discovered all that Pilates had to offer. She jumped in and received her first certification in 1992 at The Pilates Center of Pasadena. Back then, The Method didn’t have the popularity is has today, so Tami and fellow instructors would place Pilates equipment right on the same streets that the Rose Parade follows and offer quick demonstrations to anyone passing by! She would go on to become one of the founding instructors for Perfectly Fit in San Marino and La Canada, CA and would continue her certifications at this studio. She was able to advance her skills and knowledge by studying with some of the most dynamic instructors around such as Joan Breibart, Michele Larsson, and Jill Cassady. Tami was also an integral part of growing the Pilates Program at both Jonathan Club locations, where she developed sport-specific programs such us Pilates for Golf and Pilates for Tennis. Tami then went on to do extensive physical therapy work at Rapid Rehab in Santa Monica, CA. In 2012 Tami decided to branch out on her own. Her fusion-style of teaching, as well as track record of helping pre- & post-op patients, would eventually become TAMI’S TAKE ON…PILATES. REHAB. NUTRITION. With her custom-designed programs that she tailors to each client’s activities, injuries and passions, Tami has developed a devoted following throughout the Los Angeles area. “I love that I’ve had the pleasure of working with people from such diverse backgrounds…from nationally-competing athletes to weekend warriors, from children trying to excel in their sport to grandparents looking to stay play-ready! It’s my passion to help people do the things they enjoy, better & without pain.”
