This week on the Mat we’ll play with the thera-band and weights and how holding them affects our arm-to-back-to-center connection. And, on the Reformer we have lots to talk about!

I love this workout. I am sad to see it leave because I enjoyed it so much, I hope it comes back in circulation again.

Hi Lesley ~ Thanks for the fun classes emphasizing the wrist this week. On the reformer I find it more challenging for my clients because they are afraid they are going to fall especially when doing things like tendon stretch and long stretch series. You gave me some good ideas to work on to help them feel more confident. xx ~ Lori
Totally understand. I think what’s interesting about fears is the way that we try to mitigate we actually put ourselves more in the position to fall etc. I know we teachers know that and convincing our clients is the hard part. But, if you can get them to even just “hold” the position I think they will find that it’s more enjoyable. And they won’t fall. Maybe a class on advanced preps or something is in order:) xx~LL
Hello ~ The mat class for the wrist was great! Some great reminders on wrist placement and fingers (together not pitchforks)! I’ve gotta say that I’m someone who ‘loves’ side bend, yup it’s true! It is often challenging for my clients, they like to be on their forearm, but I also believe that it’s important to work the wrist and (if there is no shoulder injury) the work on the shoulder area is wonderful! I love that you love sidebend and I’m going to try and find more love for it. I would let them know because they can be on their hand they should. They are definitely missing out on some amazing connections. even if they split their feet and come up and hold for a second and come down. Your clients are so awesome! That’s because you are. xx~Ll
I’m so sad to see this one go – it was fantastic. I have a problem with my wrists that comes and goes, and there’s never enough time during a standard practice to focus on the wrists and to give them some love. I hope that wrists come back one day! I miss them already.
