THE ROAD TO CONTROL BALANCE

Online Mat Pilates Class Description:

Too often we skip Control Balance at the end of our practice. Sometimes we run out of time, other times we think we are not ready for it. But, you may be ready sooner than you think! And, sometimes it’s just a matter of learning how to be upside down, stand on your shoulders and breathe!

This week let’s take the oath to Control balance! It’s a little road less traveled but the feels are worth it!

Hi Lesley ~ that was tough but good. I don’t usually do Control Balance (due to 3 cervical vertebra that are bulging) so that means this was a bit of a challenge. I was able to do a modified version that didn’t put me as far up onto the neck and shoulders. I held on to the bars on the cadillac (arms in about the same level that yours were) this helped me stay on my upper thoracic, my legs didn’t come up as high but it worked. It turned it into a lot of abdominal work! But I did it. I also loved the side lying scissors – I will be working on that one. I couldn’t balance keeping my top hand behind my head, it was kind of comical, I was laughing so hard that Ivy (my dog) came up and tried to lick me to be sure I was alright. Thx LW

Wow Lori, what a great idea! And, pretty sure that means you are going to be ready for Cirque De Soleil someday! I love those side lying scissors! It’s been a while since I have done them myself. Next week’s class is a bit more tame. But, I got my sweat on doing it! xx~LL
