Walking with Leg Springs on the Cadillac
Walking with Leg Springs on the Pilates Cadillac or Tower is an easy exercise to cheat on. Too often people “shuffle” their walks. Moving both legs at the same time down towards the mat and back up. But, if doing this exercise correctly only one leg will be “walking” at any time. Then that leg will hold still while the other leg “steps.” Start off slow to learn where to “step” from then see how fast you can go without losing your control. A great exercise to learn how to reach and move your legs from your center in asymmetrical exercises.
Press the entire foot into the strap not just the outside edge.

Typically you will get into Walking from a frog postion after doing Circles with your Leg Springs. If coming from that exercise or any other Leg Spring variations you will start with your legs in the Frog position. Then you’ll press your legs out to the high diagonal. If setting up to do this exercise solo lay on your back with your head towards the Leg Springs. Start with yourself a hands distance away from the edge of the mat. Then work your arms towards straight. The straighter the arms the more difficult it is and the more you’re preparing for Airplane or Leg Springs in the Air.
Frog your legs out to the high diagonal with heels hugging together and arms reaching into the poles. Holding your legs at the high diagonal lower one leg a few inches while the other leg remains reaching. Then lower the opposite leg and continue you switching until you have taken 6 steps. Then walk back up to the start. Repeat. Remember only one leg is moving at any given time. The steps do not have to be big. Hug the heels together at the end and Frog your legs back in. And if going well add on another Leg Spring exercise.
