YOUR 12 EVERGREEN REFORMER CLASSES

Below you’ll find 12 (plus a bonus class!) different classes that cover different pieces of equipment used on the reformer. Challenge yourself by taking the same class more than once and feel the difference from the time before.

1. March Madness (Mat on the Reformer)

I know it’s March maTness but this week is all about the madness of switching our pieces of equipment! An OPC favorite. We are doing the Reformer on the Mat (grab your light weights) and the mat work on the Reformer. Let’s have some fun and explore how the Reformer exercises can be done on the mat and what the mat exercises on the Reformer tell us about our Reformer practice.

2. Back with the Breath

In this class we focus on how our breath helps us do our exercises. You’re going to be surprised with how some exercises you struggle with you’ll now slay when you are breathing!

3. Put a String On It (Thera-Band)

If you like then you should of put a spring on it…or in our case off it. This week we will use the Thera-Band to mimic some spring feelings in our mat practice. Feel free to grab a pair of leggings if you don’t have a Thera-Band. And on the Reformer we are going to play with changing up the Spring tensions where we can.

4. Raising the Bar

Back by popular demand! This week’s class is brought to you by y’all. You loved the bar theme so much in February I brought it back. So grab your bars, broom sticks or poles. We are going to use it in some new ways and of course some of the ways you loved from the last time.

5. Magical Moments (Magic Circle)

We use the magic circle to connect our arms to our back and our legs to our thass.

6. Ball It Up

Let’s use the ball to enhance the connection to our center and challenge the stability of our pelvis, and a little more fun in between.

7. The Wall Way

I love to use a wall because when you don’t have a prop there’s always a wall. We use the wall to give us feedback on where we need to connect and if we did.

8. Let’s Flow and Go!

This class is a checkin class. All you are doing is testing what connections you have learned and which connections you still need. Full permission to omit exercises your body is not ready for and flow into exercises you know you can do. It runs through the full order.

9. How Low Can You Go?

This class is texting how low you can actually take your legs, or how long you can reach your arms to help you not get stuck going to the same level. It’s going to challenge your connection and reveal how strong you are.

10. 100 Hundreds

Different variations of the 100 to reveal how the 100 can actually be helping you do all the exercises you love, and those you want to love more. Don’t worry, you don’t actually do 100 hundreds.

11. Rowing Up

This week, we bring our attention to the Rowing exercises and how integral they are to our entire practice. If you’ve never been on a Reformer its worth checking the tutorials on OPC out so you can get an idea. But, have no fear, we can Row on our mat my Pilates dear.

For the Mat you will need light weights. Think 1-2 lbs. So, anything around that will fit a weight description will work. On the Reformer we will hit our Rowing early (of course) and see how we can draw upon it in exercises we don’t love so much.

12. Pulse With Me Now

Ever wonder where we’re supposed to pulse from in some of those Pilates exercises? Find out in this class where we focus on where we are pulsing from and how it helps us connect more to ourselves.

BONUS CLASS: Weights Not Weighing You Down

Grab one or two pound weights to explore how to connect more to your back!

SUCH A TEASE

ONLINE MAT & REFORMER PILATES CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

Teaser is probably one of the most photographed exercises in Pilates. Which makes people think it's a "peak pose." But, it's anything but! It's simply another layer to your Pilates practice. This week we will acknowledge how each exercise contributes to your ability to do Teaser (someday) and then how Teaser teaches you where to get curious in your practice.

On the Mat we will use light weights for one round of Teaser as they can be helpful for those still adding into their practice.
No props on the Reformer.

See you in class,

xx~LL

UP, UP, & AWAY

ONLINE MAT, REFORMER, CADILLAC & WUNDA CHAIR PILATES CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

We are all going to feel like Super Humans after this month!!

Whenever I’m in a hard exercise (for me) where I’m holding myself up with my arms and reaching my legs away I picture myself with super human strength!!! I can do ANYTHING! It makes me smile and helps me stay STRONG.

This month our exercise is Up Stretch and when you think about it - reaching your legs away and staying strong over the carriage may feel a lot like flying!

We’ll be focusing on stabilizing our strong cores while staying equally balanced in our arms and legs. We are giving you some amazing building blocks by merging strength and stretch in all directions. You are going to get a little bit of everything that you can use to connect to your Up Stretch (and even your Roll Up and Knee Stretches Off).

Chair: Please have a foam roller and a balance pad available. We are going to challenge your balance safely.

GATHER ROUND

Online Mat & Reformer Pilates Class Descriptions:

We gather good things in circles…friends, flowers, pie! So let’s get our circles on! In this week’s Mat and Reformer classes we’ll be focusing on how the size and shape of circular work changes how we feel an exercise. We’ll even be adding some circular movements along the way! You won’t need any extra props and please, have your box for the Reformer class.

See you in class,
Tami

    STAND BY ME

Online Mat & Reformer Pilates Class Descriptions:

The key to longevity is being able to get down to the ground and up again with as little assistance as possible. In this weeks class we are going to focus on how to stand in your feet no matter where they are in space.

On the Mat we will have a playful ending that Joseph Pilates would do!

The Reformer we’ll end challenging ourselves standing on our carriage. (Options to do the exercises off the Reformer too!)

    No props needed.

    LOOK MA, NO HANDS!

Online Mat, Reformer, Cadillac & Wunda Chair Pilates Class Descriptions:

We’re going to focus on the muscles that help us get up/down to a chair, toilet, in/out of a car, and to the ground without the use of our hands to help.

As we age, we can lose strength, flexibility, mobility in these leg and core muscles which results in us using our arms and hands to get up and down.

Let’s keep these bodies as young as we can by practicing getting up and down with only our legs, our center, and our strong back.

    Reformer: No props needed
    Cadillac/Tower: Reformer box
    Mat: Theraband
    Chair: No props needed

    HANG 10

ONLINE MAT, REFORMER, CADILLAC & WUNDA CHAIR PILATES CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

Grip strength as well as upper body strength plays an important role in so many different exercises throughout the mat and all apparatus. Our grip can influence the connection from our wrists - to our arms - to our back. And building strength in our chest and upper back can help us connect more to our center in every exercise.

All month long we’ll explore the feeling, the strength, and the position of our hands and upper body to see how our exercises change with a little extra focus. We’ll also play with ways to gain more strength and awareness in our chest and upper back to create even more connections to the exercises.

    Props:
Chair - short pole* and a foam roller for balance
*A thicker pole or roll down bar size might feel nice, but no worries you’ll find your connections no matter what you have on hand!
    Mat: a pole
    Reformer: No props needed
    Cadillac: No props needed

    See ya in class,
