Leg Series: Small Circles on the Small Barrel
Smaller Circles on the Pilates Small Barrel might sound easy. But, smaller often means harder. The Small Circles on the Small Barrel will challenge all the connections of your legs to your center. They are lower and more dynamic than the Leg Series Circles. Similar to the Small Circles during Leg Springs on the Cadillac or Side Leg Kicks they often reveal where you have more work to do.
Work circles from the back of your legs while pulling upper body away.
Typically done from Circles. From the mat with barrel in front of hip, head and chest on the mat, hands holding handles and lift your hips as if doing Rolling Like a Ball and pull the barrel under your hips. Hips on the arch.
Maintaining your head and chest on the mat with gaze up. Frog legs to high diagonal. Open the legs and circle down, together and up swiftly. Repeat and reverse direction.
These are smaller, with zest and it’s easy to miss the hug together. Work the down and together.
Going well? Frog in and transition into Walking. If not continuing through series transition into Rolling In and Out.
