5 Reasons Why Mat Pilates is My Go-To Workout

It’s no secret that Mat Pilates is one of the best and toughest of all the Pilates apparatus. Yep, I think the Mat is a piece of Pilates equipment. It’s also what Joseph Pilates created first and wanted people to do every day. Until he realized just how hard it was! But, you don’t have to be an old pro to get down with the Pilates Mat. The Mat work will meet you where you are in your fitness level and Pilates practice. So, why don’t we make the Mat something you can do on a rainy day, busy day or even a sunny day on the beach?

#1 You can do the Mat work anywhere you can lay on the ground

#2 You can do it for as little or as long as you want. My Mat classes are only 30 minutes and my personal Mat practice is only 21 minutes!

#3 It’s as hard as you want it to be

#4 You just need yourself. Or, if you want to bring a magic circle, ball or weights to the mat you can. But, if you find yourself in an airport you can look back at reason #1 and get your Pilates on

#5 It works the entire body from head to toe and back again

I could keep going if you would like! In fact, if you want to know more about the Mat check out all my free Mat exercise tutorials here. Or, contact me for any questions you have.

You don’t need to be a pro to do the Mat. And, you don’t need to wait to get strong enough to get started. Pilates just asks that you do quality work not a massive quantity of work.

So, have some fun! Get your Mat Pilates on wherever you are.

Ps, My Favorite Mat exercise right now is Jackknife. What’s yours?
