Shave & Hug with the Light Weights
Shave with Light Weights in Pilates is a fun way to get some Reformer exercises into a Mat practice or while you’re traveling. Sometimes using light weights allows us to explore the Pilates movement without the pull of the springs as a distraction. Work those elbows wide! Shave is always a wide back exercise and never a tricep press.
Work those elbows wide! Shave is always a wide back exercise and never a tricep press.
Standing tall with heels hugging together and toes slightly apart. Working your legs together, hips over heels and shoulders over hips. With one light weight in each hand. Fingers long and together, thumb wrapped over the weight. Index fingers and thumbs pressing together. Elbows bent wide to the side. Palms face the back of your head.
Working the thumbs and index fingers together work your arms up towards the ceiling. Your arms won’t likely get to straight. Bend the elbows wide to the side as you pull your hands back down. Repeat. If going well transition into Shave.
