Hundred V2 on the Spine Corrector
The Pilates Hundred can easily get into your neck if you’re not curling up from the right muscles. However, it’s also possible that you curl too high! Using the Pilates Spine Corrector as support can provide the help and feedback you need. You can also play with the legs being up or down depending on what your Pilates practice needs. When this feels more possible, if accessible try to do the Hundred without the Spine Corrector support.
Breathe your heart and low ribs into the barrel.
Sit on the mat with the hump of the barrel behind you. Start with legs long on the mat. Hugging your heels together and your toes apart. Lay back so that your shoulders are touching the barrel. It should feel easy in your neck to gaze straight ahead. Depending on your height you may need to slide further away from the barrel. Arms long by your sides.
Easier is to leave the legs on the mat. Harder would be to pull the knees into the chest and then reach them to the high diagonal. Inhale and pump your arms for 5. Exhale and pump your arms for 5. Repeat for 10 cycles of breathing.
If you begin to leave the barrel you’re curling too high. Reset and repeat.
