Rolling Like a Ball on the Spine Corrector
Rolling Like a Ball is a Pilates exercise that has many uses. Done well, Rolling Like a Ball challenges your center, works your whole body and feels like a massage. Not connected? Rolling Like a Ball can feel like a thud. Often, its hard to fully grasp how to Roll Like a Ball without using your head or momentum. Using the Pilates Spine Corrector is helpful because it makes the movement smaller. Focused. It looks easier than it is. After you do Rolling Like a Ball on your Spine Corrector give it a try on the Mat.
Press your legs into arms, and pull legs from arms connected to back.
Sit in the crease of the Spine Corrector step with your back to the hump. Bend your knees into your chest and place your hands on your shins close to your ankles. Or, if shins are not accessible place your hands behind your hamstrings. Elbows wide, heels hugging together and knees apart. Lift tall before rounding forward to gaze at your center.
Without changing your gaze pull your waist back to rock a little bit back towards the hump and then using your center rock back up to your start position balancing in the crease. If you slide down in the step, reset and repeat. Often, using your inhale to go back and your exhale to return up is helpful.
