Teaser Facing In on the Spine Corrector
The question, to Teaser or not to Teaser? Well, when it comes to Teaser on the Pilates Spine Corrector the answer is ‘To Teaser.’ But, this time you get to face in towards the hump of the barrel. I remember when I first learned about the Spine Corrector and the two Teasers on it I really preferred this version. I think you’ll see why when you give it a go. See, I have super long legs and having the hump of the barrel support my legs even a little bit is a lifesaver!! A welcomed treat as I practice my Teasers.
Once you feel good about holding your Teaser here begin to challenge your practice by leaving your legs in one place reaching out as you lower your upper body and then lift it back up. Repeat 2 more times. If that goes well try to lift and lower your legs three times. If one of those needs some extra love an strength repeat. But, if they went well challenge yourself to lower both halves at the same time and then fold back up and reach for your Teaser. Repeat 2 more times! Then hop off on to the mat and see what your body learned.
Reach your arms from your back and your legs from your seat.
Set yourself up by sitting in the Spine Corrector facing the hump. It will be tempting to just let your legs hang over the barrel but find your sweet spot and then find your Teaser! Reach your arms from your back and your legs from your seat. Pull your center back and your head towards the ceiling. You can stay in this position and just practice the hold. I recommend doing this especially if you are new to the Teaser. This version on the Spine Corrector is a great place to practice the hold because there is a bit of support for your legs.
