Two Feet with the Towel
Working your feet is key to a long and agile life! Joseph Pilates seemed to understand this as he created his Pilates method. And, he came up with many ways to explore the strength and mobility of the feet. The Towel exercises are incredible for working the mobility of the feet and reveals which foot has mobility and strength. Use the Two Feet standing or sitting depending on your balance. And, don’t forget to use your center as you are working your feet!

Standing or sitting with the ball of your feet and toes on a towel. If standing arms are by your side, on your hips or holding a pole. Sitting arms are by your side use to help you sit tall. Heels are on the floor. Feet and legs parallel and hips distance apart. Lift tall through your center.
Curling all your toes and the muscles of your feet simultaneously pull on the towel. Open the toes for a moment to grab the towel again with both feet. Pull the towel in more and repeat. Continue to curl and spread your toes until you’ve pulled the towel in. Then using your toes undo what you did. Use the toes to curl under then spread out to spread the towel back out. Notice if your feet are working the towel evenly. Repeat for a few sets.
If needed, try One Foot to work the foot that needs more attention.
