Legs Outside with the Magic Circle
When you have only a minute for your Pilates practice, using the Pilates Magic Circle can maximize that minute. Standing with the Magic Circle between your ankles provides a series that hits the front, back and inside of your legs while also challenging your balance. Enjoy this Pilates series before or after your Pilates practice or do it alone for Pilates homework.
Standing with the Magic Circle between your ankles provides a series that hits the front, back and inside of your legs while also challenging your balance.
Stand with legs parallel and pads of circle above the ankle bone. Hands on hips or down by side. Shoulders over hips and hips over heels. Reach both legs into the mat without locking the knees. Lift tall and then lift the right leg up slightly ideally without leaning. Hug the right leg into the circle and then resist it out for 10 reps. Then with tension on the circle work the right leg forward so the right leg is in front of the left leg and hug the right leg back into the circle for 10 reps.
Maintaining tension on the circle place the right foot down and lift the leg. Left leg is behind right and then pull the left leg forward towards the right for 10 reps.
Maintaining tension on the leg rotate the left leg to the side and hug the left leg in on the circle for 10 reps.
Then with tension on the circle rotate the left leg forward and pull the circle back towards the right leg for 10 reps.
Finally, with tension on the circle place the left foot down and lift the right leg. Right leg will press forward towards the left leg for 10 reps.
Rotate the right leg to the side to balance off and let go of the circle.
If you lose the circle at any time reset and continue.
