Marble
Whenever I think about Marbles, I think about Peter Pan. However, Joseph Pilates was thinking about your feet! And, he didn’t stop with just working one toe. Nope, the Marble exercise will challenge all of your toes. And, can be used to work a straight legs length or to strengthen a bent leg! Do this seated or standing depending on your needs. You’ll need multiple Marbles to do this exercise.
Do this seated or standing depending on your needs.
If needed this can be done sitting. Marbles on the floor in front of feet that are touching the floor. Arms by side to assist sitting tall. If possible, do this standing. Arms by side, hands on hips, arms out to the side or using a pole for balance. If your legs needs more length in the hip the working leg will remain straight. If you need to strengthen the hip you will bend the knee as you pick up the marbles. Place several marbles (at least 5) in front of your foot on the floor.
Using the first toe grab a marble and pick it up and place in your bowl/jar. Then take your foot and grab a marble with your second toe, then third, fourth and yes fifth!
Repeat on the other foot! If needed repeat on the weaker foot.
