Why We Started Lesley Logan Pilates?

Hi, I’m Lesley Logan, the founder of OnlinePilatesClasses.com™. I’ve been teaching Pilates since 2008. My journey in teaching led me to learn from one of Joseph Pilates’ clients. And that led me to teaching teachers and people Pilates around the world. In fact, I’ve taught hundreds of teachers and thousands of people, and I’m so excited to talk to you about how we can do Pilates together.

Welcome to Online Pilates Classes, a community and space for Pilates workouts, tutorials, and movement for life.

How we started OPC?

We started OnlinePilatesClasses.com™ because, well, the truth is my husband, Brad, said I needed to. I was traveling so much and leaving my clients in Los Angeles without a Pilates teacher, teaching people around the world, but then leaving them without me. And so he suggested we start a platform. But I wanted to make sure that we started a platform that would solve peoples’ actual problems. Those being: accountability, making sure you actually showed up to use the classes that you got, and also the community. I know that community is so important. And so when we founded OnlinePilatesClasses.com™, those two values had a built into it.

At OPC, we actually have workouts available for whatever piece of equipment you have access to. So most people have access to a mat, meaning you can lay on the floor and do the mat work everywhere. But some people have access to a Reformer, Wunda Chair, Tower/Cadillac, and I wanted to provide workouts for those as well. No matter what your level is, we actually can meet you where you are, and take you on a journey in your own Pilates practice on all pieces of equipment.

But also, I understand that not everyone is ready to commit to an online membership. And so if you’re wanting to learn more about Pilates, if you wanted to nerd out, we actually do have flashcards at OPC that teach you all the different exercises that are available on the mat, the Tower, Wunda chair and more.

The most important thing at OPC

Here’s what’s also so important, you have to know what OPC. We actually just want you to show up and be who you are. So you come at the level you are and as long as you logged in and press play. First of all, that’s a win, any amount of minutes you’re able to complete in the class is important and amazing. We actually believe that finishing is optional. So we don’t want you to put any pressure on yourself, that you have to have 30 minutes, you have to have 50 minutes, any amount of minutes is what is the most important thing at OPC and also what our community loves to celebrate with you.

At onlinepilatesclasses.com™ we can get you all the amazing benefits that come with Pilates. So, hello, good posture, strength, flexibility, reduced back pain, menstrual pain, and also an increased awareness around how your brain works with your body, all those things and more come with your OPC membership because we help hold you accountable. Because we take the classes away each week and each month, we actually help you show up for you and allow you to take class over and over again so that you can compare yourself to yourself. And also no decision fatigue because when you log in, you only see the classes you have access to for that week. And you don’t have to go which class I want to take right now. Login, press play and get your move on.

So at OPC we believe that Pilates is movement for life. In fact, we love to help people fall better. Meaning, if you’re gonna fall, we want you to be able to catch yourself and recover quickly. In fact, I’ve had a client whose in her 80s, and when I made her do this one move that you’ll see in the mat classes, she’s like, “Why are we doing this?” and I said, “Because it’s gonna make you fall better.” And sure enough that day she missed a step. And she actually did the exercise in the air without thinking about it, caught her balance, and kept on walking. So that’s what we’re here to help you do at OPC.

Now, take a quick second, make sure you’re subscribed to the OPC YouTube channel and turn on the notifications because not only do you get lots of how-to videos from us, and a live YouTube video from us each week, but also we have full length workouts I don’t want you to miss.

Here’s how OPC works

So here’s how OPC works, you actually pick the membership based on the equipment you have access to. There’s three memberships to choose from Mat only, Reformer and Mat, or the All Equipment (Full Studio) membership, which has the Mat, Reformer, Wunda chair and Tower/Cadillac. When you choose your membership, you can either pay monthly or you can choose the annual option. And that’s where you get some bonuses. All members are invited to our members only community where you get accountability from each other and amazing support and celebration. Plus, you can submit videos of yourself taking exercises and OPC teachers will provide feedback for you. Then, because we take classes away every single Tuesday and replace them with new classes, you get amazing accountability because you’re gonna show up to take that class before it disappears. Every month, all of our members are invited to the monthly filming of the mat class live. So you join us for the class and afterwards we hang out, we celebrate, we actually can answer questions, get to know each other more. It’s amazing and I can’t wait to meet you there. And just a reminder, if you’re not ready for onlinepilatesclasses.com™ memberships yet, you can get our flashcards here and take your Pilates practice with you wherever you go. At OPC we are so confident you will love your membership that we have a money back guarantee. You can get the specifics of that on our website. And then when you come in and meet the community, you’ll see why we’re so confident.

Community at OPC

The community part of OPC is my favorite thing. In fact, it is one of the biggest things I fought for when we were creating this platform for you, because I know that when you’ve got a lot going on, sometimes the last thing you do is take care of yourself. But, when you have community, when you have people who are like, “Hey, where you’ve been, what’s going on?” you show up, you don’t miss out because you want to be part of what everyone else is doing. And so not only as a community group where you can actually check in and tell people how class went for you that week, you can also join us for those monthly live classes and meet people in real time. OPC Teachers can answer your questions. And don’t forget, OPC Teachers can actually give you feedback on your form and make sure you’re getting all the connections, not just to your practice, but to each other. And, by the way, make sure you’re subscribed to the OPC YouTube channel, because I do a YouTube Live every single Sunday at 9 am Pacific Time.

I want to meet you at OPC

So look, if you think this kind of accountability and community are exactly what you’re looking for, go to our membership page and pick your practice! Also comment below, I want to hear from you. I love hearing your questions. I love hearing your takeaways. Put those below and let me know what kinds of classes you’re looking for. We want to know what you want. Plus, subscribe to our YouTube channel to make sure you hear all the myths, all the benefits and all the philosophies that come along with Pilates. And here’s a link to Spotify music that I’ve put together that are perfect to go along with these workouts we’ve created. Just in case you’re like me, we actually have OPC available in an app so you can join us on your computer or in an app and tablet and take us wherever you want to go. Thank you so much and I am excited to meet you!

SUCH A TEASE

ONLINE MAT & REFORMER PILATES CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

Teaser is probably one of the most photographed exercises in Pilates. Which makes people think it's a "peak pose." But, it's anything but! It's simply another layer to your Pilates practice. This week we will acknowledge how each exercise contributes to your ability to do Teaser (someday) and then how Teaser teaches you where to get curious in your practice.

On the Mat we will use light weights for one round of Teaser as they can be helpful for those still adding into their practice.
No props on the Reformer.

See you in class,

xx~LL

MAGICAL MOMENTS

Online Mat & Reformer Pilates Class Descriptions:

I thought it would be fun to bring some magic into class with the Magic Circle. If you hate the Magic Circle, that's OK! Don't worry - we won't use it too much. It's a great prop to magically show you "ohh, that's the muscle you need!" when we're connecting arms to back or legs to seat. And then we learn how to get that feeling without using it. Let's make some magic!

Mat props: Magic Circle or a ball or your imagination!
Reformer props: Magic Circle or theraband or ball

See ya in class,
xx-LL 💋

MAT EQUIPMENT NEEDED: Your awesome self, Magic Circle or a ball and a mat!

(NOT) THE FALL SEASON

Online Mat & Reformer Pilates Class Descriptions:

As we all get older, your balance may be something you notice declines. I love working on balance because if you’re not present in the moment, or even thinking of something else, you can lose your balance. You can also lose your balance by favoring one side more than the other, whether it’s right/left sides in terms of limbs, or inner and outer edges of the foot that you’re standing on.

Let's check in with our balance in this week's classes. In fact, we're going to bookend our classes - a balance check at the start of class, and at the end of class - to see how our practice affected our balance.

No props for mat or reformer.

See you in class,
Christine

MEET ME AT THE BARRE

ONLINE MAT, REFORMER, CADILLAC & WUNDA CHAIR PILATES CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

Have you ever done a Barre Workout? Yes, No, Maybe So?
While the moves may be a little different than what we’re used to, the spirit is pure Pilates!!

This month we’ll take the best of what Barre-work has to offer…think combinations of long and short movements, great breath focus, strength and flexibility training, or just adding a pole to our work..and we’ll apply these ideas to our 50 Minute Classes!

On the Mat, grab your Pilates pole or a Swiffer handle and a ball.
The Tower/Cadillac already comes with barres and poles, so let’s explore how to get the most out of this equipment!
On the Reformer: no added props
And the Wunda Chair: no added props

See ya in class,
xx-LL 💋

WILD SIDE

Online Mat, Reformer, Cadillac & Wunda Chair Pilates Class Descriptions:

Pilates is one of the few movement practices that focuses on our side body! And, our side body is what keep us from falling! And, it's also integral to our posture. So, let's nerd out with our Wild Sides!

Let's have fun focusing on twisting, side bending and the spine shapes in between that help and our helped by our Wild Sides!

Mat class: Magic Circle
Reformer class: No props needed
Tower/Cadillac class: A reformer pole and the reformer box, but both are technically optional!
Wunda Chair class: Theraband or an old pair of leggings!

See ya in class,
xx-LL 💋

SECOND CHANCES!

Online Mat & Reformer Pilates Class Descriptions:

It's easy to default to saying "we have a weaker side" on our body. Instead, think about it as which side of your body needs a little more encouragement or coordination! This week we will focus on becoming aware of which side of your body in the asymmetrical exercises that we do is actually needed another moment - or second chance - at the exercise!

No props needed.

See ya in class,
xx-LL 💋

WE WILL ROCK YOU!

Online Mat & Reformer Pilates Class Descriptions:

Let’s get our Open Leg Rocker on!! This Pilates Mat classic works the abs, massages the spine, improves balance, and promotes flexibility. We’ll work on ways to grow into this exercise, or if you’re already a rocker, we’ll have some fun variations. We’ll use the Reformer to helps us find more length & strength…and sneak in some Open Leg Rocker there, too! We won’t need any props in either the Mat or Reformer, just bring your Rock-Star selves!

See you in class,
Tami

ONE AND DONE

Online Mat & Reformer Pilates Class Descriptions:

We are in a no judgement zone this week as we fly through the orders doing just one rep of each exercise before moving on!!!

Our “1 rep drill” or our “1 and done” theme is in its 3rd year, so it’s basically tradition to do class this week. It’s also been a favorite because I add in some accessible options for everyone to try.

If you’ve done this in the past, you know the Mat order goes FAST - so we’ll be doing a few rounds with props and no props. You can do the whole class or you can pick your favorite round and just do that! It’s a week filled with CHOICES!!

If you’ve done this in the past, you know the Reformer order is LONG - so I do cut just a few moves throughout to be as close to 30 minutes as possible. Again, I added accessible options throughout, so everyone can go through the order!

Remember we want you to embrace your own journey each time you practice and love practicing in your TODAY body!! If that means you follow my variations, perfect! If that means you go for your own, also perfect!

Get ready to be ONE & DONE!!

Mat: Resistance Band, Magic Circle, and Barrel/Blanket

    UP, UP, & AWAY

ONLINE MAT, REFORMER, CADILLAC & WUNDA CHAIR PILATES CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

We are all going to feel like Super Humans after this month!!

Whenever I’m in a hard exercise (for me) where I’m holding myself up with my arms and reaching my legs away I picture myself with super human strength!!! I can do ANYTHING! It makes me smile and helps me stay STRONG.

This month our exercise is Up Stretch and when you think about it - reaching your legs away and staying strong over the carriage may feel a lot like flying!

We’ll be focusing on stabilizing our strong cores while staying equally balanced in our arms and legs. We are giving you some amazing building blocks by merging strength and stretch in all directions. You are going to get a little bit of everything that you can use to connect to your Up Stretch (and even your Roll Up and Knee Stretches Off).

Chair: Please have a foam roller and a balance pad available. We are going to challenge your balance safely.
