Arm Circles with the Wall
Pilates Neck Pull on the Mat is not usually a fan favorite. There are several reasons for this, however, if you have a strap on your Pilates Mat, you have a fighting chance. If you don’t have a strap on your mat, using the Pilates Magic Circle can be the difference between being able to do the Neck Pull during your Pilates practice or not.
Using the Pilates Magic Circle can be the difference between being able to do the Neck Pull during your Pilates practice or not.
Place the Magic Circle on the outside of flexed parallel feet. Legs will be straight, apart with heels pressing into the mat. Make sure the circle is parallel to the floor. Lay down on your back with hands interlaced behind head, elbows wide and shoulders on your back.
Pressing the circle out with outer thighs (not knees) lift head and chest up to round forward over legs. Continue to press out on the circle as you pulse your upper body forward 3x while pulling waist back. Then use your center to sit tall, shoulders over hips. Continue pushing your head into your hands and hands into your head as you round down into the mat.
Repeat.
Ensure you’re not pushing out with your knees and that it’s coming from the upper thighs.
