50-Min Pilates Reformer Workout with Lesley Logan, Embracing a Mindful Approach to Personalized Fitness
I’m Lesley Logan, I’ve been teaching supplies since 2008. My teacher studied with Joseph Pilates and so this workout is based on Joseph Pilates’ order. I’m going to give you opportunities to leave out anything that is not right for your body today. And remember, any amount of minutes is better than no amount of minutes. So if you cannot do the full workout with me yet, that’s okay, hit pause wherever you want, come back and see where you go the next time. This flexibility is also something you’ll find in our pilates reformer workout app, allowing you to tailor your workout to your pace. When in doubt, leave it out. Alright, so please be kind to your body. And remember, it’s brave and courageous to replace anything that I am doing with something you can do right now, every exercise is compounding in Pilates. And so as the workout furthers, there’s going to be exercises that are bringing a couple of the ones in the beginning together, you can replace that with something we’ve done at the beginning that was a challenge for you.
Warming Up with Tailored Footwork on the Reformer
In order to get ourselves warmed up for our pilates reformer workout full body, we’ll start with footwork. And I always try to do heavier springs so my springs are all the same weight, yours might be weighted. So, when I recommend three to four springs you’re going to pick your heavy spring. When I recommend two springs, you’ll pick a heavy medium or two heavies. Pick what supports you, you don’t want to feel like it’s pushing you around. But you also don’t want to feel like you have no support at all. That’s why we’re using the Reformer. Also make sure your straps are nice and long. If they’re too short, the spring settings I recommend aren’t going to feel as awesome. Alright, so with that being said, let’s get into it.

The Real Way to Create Lasting Pilates Habits
If you’re struggling with creating habits around your practice, definitely check out our video on how habits are truly created because they’re not created by doing repetition. They’re actually not created by doing 21 days of Pilates. They are created by how you feel about yourself and your practice as you do it.
So if you are like “What?!” yeah, then I want you to watch it. Because you can create a habit around Pilates really quickly. And you can go on vacation, you can have holidays. And you can easily get back into your habit. How cool is that? One of the pilates reformer workout benefits is that it facilitates this ease of returning to your routine. So when I go away, I don’t have all of my morning routine options, right? When I come back, I can easily get back into it, not because I’m a robot. Or there’s something different about me than you. But because of how I create and treat myself around the habits that I want to have.
OPC’s Approach to Building Habits and Community Support
At OPC, everything is designed with your habits in mind. So we celebrate you a lot, we help you celebrate yourself. All of the teachers on OPC, like myself, are fully certified comprehensively trained. And the combined amount of teaching is decades, like 60-70 years, which is kind of insane, right? So much expertise all there to support you. You are getting to know yourself more. You’re spending time with yourself. You having a moment that stops the chaos. Our weekly classes are 30 minutes, our monthly classes are 50 like this, and you can do any amount of minutes possible. You do not have to commit all or nothing. That doesn’t work. So no ads, just us supporting you and holding you accountable because we’ll take those classes away. So you show up for you not because we’re mean but because we know that you need sometimes that little sense of urgency to make sure you take that class before it goes away.
And you have this incredible community that reminds you that you’re awesome that you can share a-ha moments with and you can ask questions so that if you are like, “hey how does this go?” We’ll answer them daily. You don’t have to wait for the Sunday live or someday get to your question. It happens in that group as soon as you ask. And like I said in the class, if you have a question about your form, we can check that out for you. It’s something that no other platform will. It’s a little like having a personalized private session, you send in a video of your exercise, that you’re wondering how it’s going and we tell you exactly what you need to do about it. Sometimes this is a simple change of your equipment. Sometimes it’s a change of where you’re placing your hands. With those Russian splits, so many people put the foot in the wrong place. Of course it’s scary. Of course they don’t feel stable. So simple things like that are things we love to do. And we help you see how the all the exercises are intertwined, remind you it’s brave and courageous to be where you are. Right?
So if you are needing that in your life, go to OnlinePilatesClasses.com/free to get our special trial offer. Thank you so much. Any questions you can ask them in the comments below. We go live on Sundays on YouTube answering your questions, including those about our pilates reformer youtube workout. And remember you can start a new habit on any day. You don’t have to wait for it to be the New Year. It can be later in the year. But we can start one right now just by you saying, “I want to do this” and then making it small and tangible and able to do so no more all or nothing. No more being perfect. Show up as you are. That’s we’re here to support you. Have an amazing day and thank you so much for letting me work out with you today!
