Alternate (aka Pedal) with the Toe Corrector
Joseph Pilates designed exercises that can be done symmetrically and asymmetrically! His Toe Corrector is integral in creating mobility, agility and stability! The key to getting the most out of our Pilates Toe Corrector is keeping the spring alive as you pedal or alternate your feet. Work the whole foot from the hip to the tips of your toes.
Work the spring from the seat!
Typically done from Point and Flex sitting tall with legs straight out in front of you. Toe Corrector is around the base of the big toes or towards the tip of the big toes. Ankles are flexed with toes pointing to the ceiling. Hands by side, spine sitting tall!
Engage the spring and then hold one foot with toes to the ceiling and point the other foot. Then flex the ankle and reach toes to ceiling to switch. Then engage the spring and flex one foot while toes point to ceiling on the other foot. Return toes to ceiling and switch.
When ready, begin to hold the spring alive as you point one foot and flex the other back towards shin and switch. Repeat side to side working the full point of the foot and full flex of the ankle.
