Point and Flex with the Toe Corrector
Working your feet keeps your body feeling young and vibrant. Want to be free of some back pain? Work your feet! Your feet have tons of bones and muscles and have the ability or should have the ability to curl, flex, point, circle and more. Unfortunately, most people do not have the ability to work their feet in all these positions. Joseph Pilates knew the importance of moving our feet. Maintaining their agility and flexibility. The Toe Corrector will support your feet! Don’t worry, even if your feet are stiff, the Pilates Toe Corrector can assist you!
Work all the toes whether pointing, flexing or articulating.
Sitting tall with legs straight out in front of you, parallel and hips distance apart (spring starts closed). Press heels into mat, work outer hips in and sit tall! Hands by side and if possible pressing into the mat. Toe Corrector around the big toe either at base or near tip.
Point: Using the outer hips, open the spring and point the whole foot. Then flex the ankle and reach toes to the ceiling. Release spring. Then repeat, open spring, point the whole foot then flex ankle and reach toes to ceiling.
Flex: Work the spring open from out hips and pull the whole foot and toes back towards shins. Then reach heels down and toes to ceiling. Release spring and repeat. Open spring flex harder and then return toes to ceiling.
Articulate: With toes to ceiling, engage the spring with both outer hips. Pull the toes back and reach the ball of the foot forward. Then point the toes forward. Flex the toes back and then pull the ball of foot back, toes point to the ceiling. Release the spring and repeat. Engage the spring, ball of foot forward, point toes, flex toes and then pull ball of foot back.
In all variations, work the entire ball of the foot in all directions, pinky and big toe side move together.
